Continue learning during the pandemic.

We are still open for business, with all of our physical courses available as virtual training.

How do I manage SAP Live Access contingents?

Consumption of SAP Live Access is centrally managed and controlled within the SAP Live Access environment. You have full transparency about your usage in the Contingents page which shows a list of all contingents that were purchased and can be used for hands-on practice within SAP Live Access.

SAP Live Access contingents have the following attributes:

Unique contingent identifier - Contingents are assigned to a training system after logging in SAP Live Access portal and using them to start a course in the Course Catalog

Validity - defines the timeframe during which you can do hands-on practice

Consumed time - number of hours on the contingent that were already used for practicing

Total time – the total number of hours on the contingent that can be used for practicing

A Contingent can be used to access more than one training system, but not at the same time.

If the contingent is fully consumed or its validity end date is reached, it cannot be used anymore.

For more information about SAP Live Access contingents read the General User Guide.

Why is my SAP Live Access training system lifetime shorter than 30 days?

Every newly requested training system has a lifetime until the validity of the assigned contingent ends, but for a maximum period of 30 days. If you request a new training system using a contingent that is valid for 10 more days, your training system lifetime will also be 10 days.

Some of the training systems are pre-deployed and are available during a predefined period of time which is shown in the pop-up window after selecting Start Course.

Can I extend my SAP Live Access training system?

Every newly requested training system has a lifetime until the validity of the assigned contingent ends, but for a maximum period of 30 days. The 30 days training system lifetime cannot be extended. The training system will be automatically deleted when either the contingent’s consumption time or the system lifetime ends. It is not possible to assign a second contingent to the same training system.

The contingent can be used during its validity period to start another course if it doesn’t already have one attached to it. If the contingent is fully consumed or its validity end date is reached, it cannot be used anymore.

How do I practice in another SAP Live Access training system?

It could happen that you have selected the wrong course or would like to practice a different one.

In these cases, simply delete your existing training system in the Active System tab on the Home page and the associated contingent will be freed. It can then be reused to request another training system from the Course Catalog tab. If you have more than one valid contingent, you are able to assign yourself to multiple courses from the Course Catalog.

How to fix issue connecting to SAP Live Access training system?

To use SAP Live Access, you must first fulfill minimal system requirements as listed at https://training.sap.com/shop/help-center/system-requirements/sap-live-access-system-requirements

If you are still experiencing issues, try the following steps:

Before trying to access again, clear the browser cache. Clearing the browser cache will also clear any links to the error messages and cached content.

If you have multiple windows open or have clicked on the access system multiple times, please close those windows, restart the web browser, and use only one window. You could also try to restart the computer.

If connecting via one web browser does not work, please try via another. Either Firefox or Chrome if using Microsoft Windows or Safari if using macOS.

If you are connected to any VPN network please disconnect it, restart the system and then try connecting to the training system again.

Please ensure that you do not have any firewalls running on your computer. You can try to temporarily disable them while trying to connect to the training system.

To exclude your computer being the issue, try accessing the training system on a different computer. A personal computer would be ideal as it will not have security restrictions on a work computer.

To exclude the office or work network being the issue, try connecting from a different network. Sometimes office networks do not allow connections and may need special settings from your IT teams.

Hopefully, these general guidelines will help you to complete the connection test, that is available at https://www.learn.sap/connecttest

If you are not able to see the Windows login screen, please contact your local IT department for further assistance. In case you can see the Windows login screen, the connection test is successfully completed and you can try accessing your training system.
