Course announcements

  • This class, S4D480, is the successor of BC480. S4D480 contains nearly all the content of BC480, which explains how to create PDF-Based Print Forms. S4D480, in addition, covers specific new features of SAP S/4HANA.
  • These are the possible ways of using those forms: The classical approach (valid for SAP S/4HANA On-Premise and for SAP ERP):
    • In this classical approach "Adobe LiveCycle Designer for SAP" is being included in SAP GUI. To pass the actual data to the Print Form at runtime an own data retrieval program is needed. With this approach it is possible to create own print scenarios from scratch.
  • Apart from this, there is the new, cloud-ready approach that works as well with On-Premise installations:
    • This new approach uses "Adobe LiveCycle Designer for SAP" as a standalone client to develop Form Templates. These templates need to be uploaded to the backend system afterwards. The data retrieval is done via a Gateway Service. Normally it is not intended to create own output scenarios from scratch but rather to adopt existing SAP scenarios. This includes the adoption and extension of the form layout and the gateway service. That an output is created at runtime depends on customizing settings. Besides, this new approach allows for the distinction of Master Form Templates (like a frame of a picture with logo, sender address, receiver address) and Content Form Templates (like the actual picture with the transactional data) that makes it possible to reuse Master Form Templates for several Content Form Templates.
  • As this customizing is very application specific it cannot be explained completely. Instead an existing example will be explained. It is important to understand that only predefined SAP scenarios can be used for this new approach and that it is not possible to create a scenario from scratch.
